FAN COIL REPLACEMENT TORONTO
HVAC REPAIR
Fan Coil Installation & Repair
Our team has extensive experience with the installation of fan coil units. We recommend that older units be replaced with newer models to help improve your efficiency. Older fan coil units consume a lot more energy than the latest fan coil models. Our team will help you select the optimal unit for your space. We are a team of HVAC technicians and we will supply and install all the necessary parts for your new fan coil unit.
Why replace your fancoil insulation?
The insulation that lines the inside of the fan coil unit can, over time, become a breeding ground for different types of mold “colonies” as the “ideal” conditions of high humidity, no light, and warmth are all present. Harbour HVAC staff are trained to assess and remediate mold. We will provide a remediation plan to clean existing mold and address issues to help minimize the re-occurrence of mold growth. Each level of mold contamination requires the appropriate containment and course of action. This will include various levels of mold remediation from simple treatment, insulation removal, complete FCU replacement or retrofit. The issue of mold in residential fan coil units is a normal occurrence and should be properly addressed as a maintenance issue. Harbour HVAC staff will have all the details you need to proceed with addressing the problem quickly and efficiently!
What is Mold?
Some companies advertise “mold removal” and may even guarantee to remove all mold. This is a fallacy because removing all mold from a house or business is impossible; microscopic mold spores exist almost everywhere, both indoors and outdoors. Here are the facts:
Mold is present almost everywhere, indoors and outdoors.
Mold spores are microscopic and float along in the air and may enter your home through windows, doors, or AC/heating systems or even hitch a ride indoors on your clothing or a pet.
Mold spores thrive on moisture. Mold spores can quickly grow into colonies when exposed to water. These colonies may produce allergens and irritants.
Mold often produces a strong, musty odor and can lead you to possible mold problem areas.
A staggering 100% of chronic sinus infections are caused by mold.
Mold is linked to causing 30 different health problems.
Infants born during mold season are three times more likely to develop asthma and other allergies. But the tricky thing is, mold season varies from season to season
Fan coil insulation replacement process
Install mats to protect your flooring. We also protect surrounding walls to prevent any damages.
Disconnect water and power to the unit and isolate from building wide services.
Capture fiberglass partices and mold in the air with a high suction vaccum.
Install a new foam insulation and fix it in using glue and a pen gun.
Bring back the water and power services to the unit.
Complete a final cleanup of the working area.
Fan coil retrofit
Vertical fan coil units (VFC) provide high-rise residents with heating, cooling and ventilation. Fan coil units are built into the original building construction inside a cabinet located behind your wall. A retrofit unit is designed to replace your unit with out having to remove the cabinet. The unit slides into the existing cabinet and eliminates damaging drywall and the surrounding area in a suite. Reducing costs and installation time – the entire process is completed in a day. By completely replacing outdated parts found in your older units, not only will it improve efficiency but provide better indoor air quality.
